See, I told you so.  First, it was Michael Moore.  Now, we have Rosie O’Donnell.  I admit, she’s nuts even for a liberal, but she’s still a lib.  I’m still waiting for more haterz to the killing of Binny…and more will come.  After all, what kind of country are we when shooting some unarmed dude in the face is more ”American” than laying him down and pouring water on him?  What about that chick from “Flash Dance?”  Should we have just shot her in the face?  Apparently, the left now believes we should never take prisoners…just line ‘em all up and shoot ‘em in the face.   Well, except for Mike and Rosie.

Well that didn’t take long.  I’m not sure Michael Moore constitutes the “cracks” in the liberals’ support of Barry killing Binny that I prophesized yesterday, but he’s definitely not a conservative, so he’ll do.  You know, you’ve really got to hand it to Moore because the man never disappoints.  He made his totally predictable thought-provoking comments to Piers Morgan on CNN, so nobody was probably watching, except Moore’s mom. 

Michael Moore has gotten himself into something of a semantic firestorm regarding the death of Osama bin Laden, calling it an ‘assassination’ and lamenting he didn’t get a day in court. Moore defended his position (and made the requisite Nazi analogy) to Piers Morgan on CNN tonight, arguing that America is ‘better’ than tracking bin Laden down.

Bravo Mr. Moore, Bravo!  Accusing the SEALs of “executing” OBL, check!  Calling us all Nazi’s for cheering for Binny’s death, check!  Wearing a university hat that your mom just pulled out of the dryer and which obviously shrank, check!  You know, I’ve always wondered what made Moore the man he is today.  What really makes him tick?  Well, the Penguin, er, Moore, took down some of his emotional walls with Morgan, 

‘Maybe I’m just an old-school American who believes in our judicial system.’

I can assure you Mr. Moore, you are the youngest, “Old School American” I can think of.  For example, no one lamented the Japanese folks at Hiroshima and Nagasaki not getting trials.  And people who were alive during WWII are pretty old, right?  Maybe Moore is talking “old school” like Davy Crockett was “old school.”

I usually detest Michael Moore, since he’s made millions off of other people’s tragedy, while constantly yelling about all the greedy rich people, of which he is one.  He’s also a lunatic, and thus, is the only man with the guts to criticize America’s values, while, at the same time, wistfully arguing that a  mass-murdering non-citizen, should receive the benefits of those values.

Here’s to you Mr. Moore.  You are consistently nuts, if you’re anything.  Now here, have a fish.

It’s fascinating, isn’t it?  I wonder if the lefties realize just how inconsistent they’re being over this whole OBL killing thing?  But we’ll get to that in a minute.  Yesterday, we, as the bill-paying children of the United States, were told that we are not going to get any more information about the outcome of Barry’s steel resolve in the face of overwhelming odds: the death of Binny.  Not just the photo of his dead body, but anything.  While the implied reason for the lack of info is mostly “national security,” the real reason is probably that everytime more information comes out, the killing looks more and more like one of those George W. Bush productions that the libs hate so much.

Let’s take all the latest information we have to date and see where we are.  Our glorious president, overflowing with both moral and American values, gives a “kill order” to the SEALs.  Not a “try and capture him so we can bring him to justice and kill only as last resort” order, but a “I expect to see his dead body sinking into the Arabian Sea before anyone knows he’s dead” order.  So, we insert American military far into a sovereign nation, without its consent or knowledge.  We break into a compound under the cover of darkness, kill several occupants, although no guns were ever found in the house.  Finally, we kill an unarmed man, in his bedroom, in the middle of the night.  And if you believe his 12 year old daughter, we had actually taken Laddy into custody before putting a couple of bullets in him.  When asked whether this operation was legal, AG Eric Holder said yes, stating that we were practicing “national self defense.”  Hmmmm.

Now, this is where I need to point out that I fully support what Barry decided to do.  All things being equal, I’m a fan of assassinating our enemies.  If it were a sports team, I’d wear its jersey with pride.  Let’s get them before they get us.  That’s why I always supported going into Iraq.  Next, we should find the Yemeni cleric who was allegedly behind several of the more recent terror attempts, and drop a bomb on his head.  But this is a George W. Bush position to take, not a “Bush should have been impeached and put in jail because he fought an illegal war and illegally waterboarded those terrorists” position.

I’m wondering how long it will take for cracks to appear in the liberal’s support of killing OBL.  Yes, the Pakistani assertions that there were no guns in the house can be taken with a gigantic grain of salt, since their feelings were hurt by not being cc’d on Barry’s email to the SEALs.  Also, I certainly question the credibility of the 12 year old daughter.  But we do know that our Prez gave the “kill” order and that Binny was unarmed at the time we shot him.  That info. came from our own people…and I was told yesterday that not believing our government makes me crazy…and I’m the sanest person I know.

The point is, we all know that, had Bush been behind the raid, all we’d be hearing from those on the left is that it was illegal, or immoral, or not keeping with our American values.  They’d ask why couldn’t we take him into custody and try him in federal court in New York?  Seriously, where’s the ACLU?  OBL’s Constitutional Rights have been taken without due process!  Are the protectors of our Civil Rights too busy harassing public school students as they pray over their fattening lunches to get on this?

Simply put, you can’t be a namby-pamby on national defense that spent eight years constantly hollering about Bush being a war criminal when your current Prez likely broke both international and national law in the killing of an unarmed man in a foreign country, while at the same time, attempting to assassinate Gaddafi in Libya during another ‘illegal’ war…and expect to be taken seriously.  But then again, they’re liberals, and they should never be taken seriously.

[UPDATE] Uh-oh…not only was Binny unarmed, a senior defense official said only one of people killed was armed, and that guy was in the guest house.  War crimes?  Hello?  And that picture at the top of the page?  They may actually have been watching “The West Wing,” since there were “twenty to twenty five minutes” when no one in the situation room knew what was going on because the SEAL’s helmet cam went out. 

Trust me. It’s better you don’t know.

My favorite movie is, without question, ‘JFK.’  You know, the one that does such a good job of convincing you that JFK was killed by more than just Lee Harvey?  During the movie, Kevin Costner’s character asks the media, “Is a government worth preserving when it lies to the people?”    Now, I’m not a conspiracy nut.  I’m not a Truther, a Birther, or one of those guys who thinks the moon landing happened in a Hollywood backlot.  You can count me as one of those guys who doesn’t think Oswald acted alone, however.  Why?  Because our government lies to us by omission all the time.  In other words, it has all kinds of information about Ruby, Oswald, and everyone else, that it has yet to release.  Why hide it?

This dovetails into a comment made by one of my many many readers the other day (did I mention there are lots of readers?).  She asked me, and I’m paraphrasing, why I spend so much time complaining and not enough time trying to find out who’s actually in charge (and thus, to blame).  Well, I complain because that’s just what I do.  And it’s my blog.  Figuring out who’s in charge?  Good question. 

You may ask how these two topics are related?  Costner’s best movie this side of Bull Durham and a reader’s question about power?  The answer to the question is found in the movie.  Those with the real power are all of the unelected government employees who decide what information should be given to the public.  Administrations may come and go, but the employees of the CIA, FBI, DOD, FDA, TGIF, etc. remain, and we can’t even vote them out of office.  Yet they possess signficant information that is kept from the American public. Why was former FBI head J. Edgar Hoover so powerful?  Because he had files on everyone.  Knowledge is power, and we’re regularly kept in the dark.

This, of course, leads me to breaking news.  Our Prez just decided that none of us regular folks get to see the photo of OBL at room temperature.  It’s probably now classified.  Like hundreds of thousands of other documents.  We’ve become children who aren’t able to handle these sorts of things.  How about those computers allegedly taken from Binny’s compound?  Is there anything on them?  Could be.  But all we’ll get is a simple ’yes’ or ’no.’  Bin Laden’s photos of impressively hairy naked women are not doubt vital to national security.

I see what you did there.

Many ask why no one trusts the government anymore.  The answer is simple: the government is hiding all kinds of crap from us under the guise of national security.  And we do little about it.  Wikileaks dumps thousands of classified documents onto the internet, and most of it proves to be completely irrelevant nonsense about Hillary Clinton thinking someone else is crazy.  National security or just Hillary being a chick (ZING)?  Why do we need to wait for some Swedish guy to steal stuff that already belongs to us, just to show it to us?  Don’t our tax dollars pay for it?  Think about it.  We bought the helicopter that carried the SEALS, whose salaries we pay, to shoot OBL with guns and bullets that we purchased.  And the camera that took the picture of the dead terrorist?  We paid for that too.  But we can’t see the picture?

So, what have you learned?  Well nothing really.  None of the foregoing was probably a mystery to any of you…especially you over there, in the tin hat.  What have I learned?  That, until I hear differently, the government killed Kennedy, a UFO crashed in the New Mexico desert, Barry was born in Kenya, and OBL is currently drinking a mojito in Cuba.
